Terms & Conditions - The Simple Version

Thankfully, most Oilily bags continue to reach their intended destination, with 99% of customers being happy with what they receive, and how they receive it.  In light of the recent huge increase in postal prices by the UK Post Office we have opted to send the majority of your parcels by Hermes, which normally takes 3 days to get to you.  For smaller items, such as phone covers, depending on weight and dimensions, we continue to use the Post Office, 1st Class, 'Large Letter' service.
For those of you ordering within the UK, if you have a particularly urgent deadline, such as a birthday, then we can use an alternative, faster, service, which will obviously cost more, but we ask that you get in contact with us before ordering, and we'll arrange for an alternative courier, or Post Office service to meet your deadline.
For those of you ordering from outside the UK, the Post Office's 'International' service will be used, with their results having been impressive over the past few years. Dispatch from the UK is always very quick, with the ultimate service depending heavily on the service provided by the postal service in the customer's own country.  There are a few countries where we know that the service, although reliable, is very, very, slow, such as Russia, Israel, South Africa & some parts of the Middle East, so please bear this in mind when ordering.  Items sent to Austrailia by comparison, are lighteningly quick, at around 5 days average, and there can't many countries much further away from us than OZ!  Please note that the Post Office does not allow us to send items to PO Box number, or PO Bag addresses.
We ask that if you have any concerns or questions about any bag that you see for sale, then rather than going ahead and purchasing regardless, we ask that you contact us first.  We'll do our best to provide you with the information you need, particularly with regards to the size and material of your intended bag, which isn't so easy to convey in a photograph.


If you have purchased something you are unhappy with, then please get back to us, preferably by e-mail to  sales@vanhuizen.co.uk  within 3 days of receipt, and let us know what the problem is.  After 7 days of receipt, then legally we are not obliged to take any action, other than with faulty goods.  We aim to keep customers happy, so no problems there, and in return we ask that you are honest and truthful with us. 

If it's a replacement you are looking for (other than for items wrongly sent by us, which will be replaced as quickly as possible) then no problem, but the item must not show any signs of wear, tear or damage.  In addition, we ask that the item(s) have all their original packaging and labels, so that they can be offered for sale again.  Please be aware that if there is not a problem with the condition of the item(s) ordered, and you have purely changed your mind, or not noted the dimensions of the bag, then the cost of returning the item(s) to ourselves, where you will need to use a service showing a signed for, proof of delivery, is down to you. 
On the very few occasions that there is a manufacturing problem, for quality control purposes, Colorful Licences will need to see exactly what the issue is, and items deemed faulty will be forwarded to them for evaluation.

Anything that warrants a refund will happen as quickly as possible, and usually by the same means that you paid us, i.e. Through Paypal to either your Credit or Debit card, or by a cheque from ourselves, depending on what is the easiest, and most cost effective.

Please bear in mind that, as we now know from experience, compensation for anything lost in the post will not be entertained by them, until at least 14 working days have elapsed.  This is because the Post Office deem this to be the necessary time frame to prove that an item has gone missing, and wont entertain a claim for compensation from us until then.  It is only after this 14 working day period that we can look into matters with the Post Office, and in turn, refund you.

Dispatch & Deliveries

Your order will be dispatched as soon as practicably possible, which normally means the same day (or if your order is received after 1.00pm, then often the following day) for delivery within the UK the next working day.  There might be the odd occasion when we take longer than this, but we will e-mail you to let you know if this is going to happen, and the reason why. 
Please make sure that you provide a full and complete address for your delivery, as failure to do so will result in your parcel either being returned to ourselves in due course, or lost for good.  Either way, the responsibility for this lies with yourself.  If returned to ourselves (which normally happens after a long delay) then the cost of resending will be required from yourself, along with the correct address.

For UK Deliveries  Who we use for UK deliveries at any time, will depend on price.  For instance, most UK deliveries now carried out by Hermes, who offer a 2/3 day service, even delivering on a Saturday, and will require a signature upon delivery.  For smaller items, such as phone covers and some wallets, depending on their dimensions and weight, will be sent using the Post Office's 1st Class, 'Large Letter', and 'Small Parcel' service, as is appropriate.

Please note that no profit is intentionally made by ourselves on postage or the use of couriers (sometimes we make a loss!) but this cost is subject to VAT if the purchaser and/or recipient is an EU resident.

For Deliveries Outside The UK  We have to date used, and will continue to use, the Post Office's International Signed For service, but it has become apparent that, despite the extra 5.30 UK pounds cost for this, there are severe limitations on tracability, particulalry with a lack of proper tracking beyond the UK borders, and 'International Signed For' meaning that customers do sign on delivery, but everything goes dead after this.  In addition there is a 2kg weight limit.  Orders containing two or more bags may have to have their items sent separately, in order to comply with this weight requirement, and strangely this frequently works out cheaper too! 

Deliveries to Europe and Austrailia normally take around 5 working days, whilst the 'Rest of the World (ROW) takes up to 10 days, although often quicker, with the exceptions of some Middle East countries (Kuwait is quick), Israel, Russia and South Africa, where a month is the norm.  Please bear this in mind before complaining about not having had your delivery.
